What Is the CHP Duty Reclaim Scheme?
The CHP Duty Reclaim Scheme enables operators of eligible Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Generator systems to reclaim 100% of the fuel duty paid on biodiesel and other qualifying fuels. This relief is available where the fuel is used exclusively to generate usable heat and electricity on-site.

To qualify for duty reclaim, your system must:
Be accredited under the CHPQA (Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance) programme or
Be classed as a CHP or Auto-Generator under HMRC guidelines
And also:
- Use a dutiable liquid fuel such as biodiesel
- Generate usable heat and/or electricity for onsite utilisation
- Maintain accurate, verifiable operational and fuel consumption records
- Have a dedicated fuel tank to supply your generation station
